Whiteboard Animation

Beyond the Slides.

Whiteboard animation makes it easier to explain ideas while keeping your audience interested. By combining drawings, movement, and narration, we can turn complex information into a story that’s easier to follow and remember. Whether you’re presenting a new product, training your team, or explaining a complicated subject, we can help you create something people will actually want to watch.

How It Works

A simple, collaborative process to bring your ideas to life.

Let’s Talk

Every project starts with a conversation. Tell us what you have in mind, who your audience is, and what you’d like your animation to accomplish.

You might have a finished script and a clear vision, or just an idea you’d like to explore. We can help you develop your concept, offer suggestions, or simply work with the direction you’ve already chosen.

Finding the Right Words

A good script gives your animation direction. If you already have one, we’ll work with it. If you’re starting with notes, a presentation, or an idea, we can help you turn that material into a script.

We’ll review the wording together and make any necessary adjustments before moving into production. Once you’re happy with the script, we’ll ask for your approval.

Planning the Visuals

With the script approved, we begin planning how the story will look on screen.

We’ll discuss the illustration style, characters, and visual elements needed for your animation. If you already have artwork or specific ideas, we can work with those too.

Depending on the project, we’ll prepare sketches or a storyboard for your review before animation begins.

Bringing It Together

With the visuals planned, we begin creating your animation, bringing the illustrations, movement, and narration together.

For the voiceover, you can choose from samples provided by professional voice actors or supply your own recording.

We’ll keep you informed as the animation takes shape and prepare a version for your review.

Final Touches

Once the animation is ready, we’ll send you a version to review.

You can share your feedback, and we’ll make adjustments within the revision terms agreed upon for your project.

After your final approval, we’ll prepare and deliver the finished video in the agreed format.

What Can You Do With Whiteboard Animation?

Education & Training

Whether you’re teaching a class, training employees, or introducing a new procedure, whiteboard animation can make information easier to understand and remember.

Drawings and narration help guide viewers through each concept at a comfortable pace, making it easier to follow the explanation without getting lost in a crowded presentation.

Business Presentations

Business presentations often involve explaining plans, sharing results, or introducing new ideas.

Whiteboard animation can help you present that information in a way that keeps your audience interested. Instead of relying on slide after slide, you can guide viewers through your message with illustrations, movement, and narration.

Products & Services

Some products and services are easier to understand when you can see how they work.

Whiteboard animation lets you walk potential customers through a process, demonstrate a feature, or explain what your business offers without overwhelming them with technical details.

It’s particularly useful when your product or service needs a little more explanation than a photograph or a short description can provide.

Nonprofits & Community Organizations

Community organizations often need to explain their work, introduce programs, or encourage people to get involved.

Whiteboard animation can help communicate these messages in a friendly, accessible way. Whether you’re introducing a community initiative, explaining how a service works, or sharing an important message, we can help you reach your audience.

Research & Complex Ideas

Research findings, scientific concepts, and technical subjects can be difficult to explain, especially to audiences unfamiliar with the terminology.

Whiteboard animation helps break information into manageable steps, using illustrations and narration to explain how things work and how different ideas connect.

The goal is to make complex subjects easier to understand without losing the details that matter.

Events & Campaigns

Planning an event, launching a campaign, or preparing an announcement?

Whiteboard animation can help introduce your message, explain what’s happening, and encourage people to participate.

Whether it’s shown during an event, shared on social media, or published on your website, the animation can be adapted to the audience and the way you plan to use it.

Pricing

How Much Does Whiteboard Animation Cost?

As a general reference, whiteboard animation starts at around $1,000 CAD per minute.

This is a general reference to help you plan your budget. The final cost depends on the illustration style, complexity, voiceover, and other production requirements.

Already have a budget in mind?

Let us know what you’re working with. We can explore different approaches and suggest a production plan that makes the most of your available budget.

Every project is quoted individually, so we’ll discuss the options with you before making any commitments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does It Take to Create a Whiteboard Animation?

Production time depends on the length and complexity of your animation. As a general reference, a one-minute video typically takes four to eight weeks after the script has been approved.

We’ll discuss the schedule with you before starting, taking into account your project’s requirements and any deadlines you may have.

Can You Help Me Write the Script?

Absolutely. You don’t need to have a finished script before contacting us.

We can work with your notes, an existing presentation, or even an idea you’re still developing. We’ll help organize the information and shape it into a script that works for your animation.

If you already have a script you’re happy with, we can work with that too.

Can I Choose the Voice for My Animation?

Yes. We work with professional voice actors and can provide samples so you can choose a voice that suits your project.

You can also provide your own recording if you prefer to use your voice or someone from your organization.

We’ll discuss the available options before production begins.

Can You Turn My Existing Presentation Into a Whiteboard Animation?

Yes. If you already have a PowerPoint presentation, training material, or another type of presentation, we can use it as a starting point.

We’ll review the content with you and discuss what needs to be adapted for animation. Some material may work as it is, while other parts might benefit from a different visual approach.

You decide how much you’d like to change.

How Do Revisions Work?

We want you to be happy with the finished animation, which is why we review and approve the script before production begins.

Our projects typically include two rounds of revisions, as outlined in your agreement. These allow you to request reasonable adjustments to the animation.

Major changes to the story, script, or overall direction after approval may require additional time and costs. We’ll always discuss those changes with you before proceeding.

Do I Own the Illustrations Used in My Animation?

Your finished video is included in the project deliverables, but the individual illustrations aren’t automatically included as separate files.

Some artwork may be subject to licensing restrictions or agreements with the artists who created it.

If you’d like to use the illustrations separately, let us know. We can discuss what’s possible and include the appropriate permissions in your agreement.

Will I Receive the Editable Project Files?

Our standard deliverable is the finished video in the agreed format. Editable project files, such as After Effects projects, are not included by default.

If you need the source files for future updates or to work with another production team, let us know before the project begins.

We can discuss the requirements, availability, and any additional costs involved.

How Much Does a Whiteboard Animation Cost?

The cost depends on the length of the video, the illustration style, and the complexity of the animation.

Professional voiceover, custom artwork, and other production requirements can also affect the price.

Tell us a little about your project, and we’ll help you understand the options and prepare a quote based on what you need.

What’s the Difference Between Whiteboard Animation and an Infographic Video?

Whiteboard animation typically uses illustrations that appear progressively on screen, often accompanied by narration to explain a story or concept.

An infographic video focuses more on presenting information through animated charts, diagrams, statistics, and other visual elements.

Both approaches can be combined, depending on your project. At Filmomentum, we also create animated infographics using motion graphics techniques.
